Health Checkups

Under this Project, we are aiming to conduct health check-up for all the residents of the Sanjay Amar Colony. We are planning to do various tests such as blood tests, BP tests, Basic vitamins deficiency test like Iron deficiency anemia, Vitamin D deficiency, Calcium deficiency, Vitamin B12 deficiency, Zinc deficiency and Iodine deficiency Tests. In addition to nutrient deficiencies, a poor diet can also lead to other health problems such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease. It is important for students to have a balanced diet that includes a variety of foods from all food groups to meet their nutritional needs. That we will be focussing through our Community Kitchen Project.

We are planning to conduct this project in three phases:

Phase 1

First, We will be identifying the target population: Determining the number of people in the village and their age group can help us to tailor the check-up to their specific needs.

Preparing a team: We will be assembling a team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and lab technicians. We will be contacting the nearby Moholla Clinics or we can hire intern nurses to conduct the checkup.

Setting up a venue: We will aim to choose a central location in the community to set up a makeshift clinic for the checkup, so that it will be accessible to everyone.

Awareness and mobilization: We will be conducting a public awareness campaign to inform community about the upcoming checkup and encourage them to attend. We can do so by circulating it through Residents Whatsapp groups and also if our budget allows, we can distribute pamphlets for the same.

Data collection: Conduct a preliminary examination of each patient to gather information about their medical history and current symptoms.

Clinical examination: Perform a thorough clinical examination of each patient, including a physical examination, blood tests, and any other tests deemed necessary.

Diagnosis and treatment: Provide diagnosis and treatment to patients as needed. Refer patients with severe conditions to a higher-level healthcare facility if necessary.

Phase 2

Mental Health Checkups: With the medium of this project, we are not just focussing on the improvement of their physical health but also focussing on their mental health as well. There might be a lot of residents who are suffering from some mental problems as well. In many cases they are not comfortable in sharing it with their family members and they don’t have the resources to consult Qualified Psychologists. So we are planning to contact students who are pursuing their majors in Psychology and we will be opening this opportunity as an internship/volunteering program. This way, the residents will have access to qualified mental health professionals and can get the support they need.

Phase 3

Follow-up: We will be Scheduling follow-up appointments for patients with chronic conditions to monitor their progress. Also, we will be re-examining the test results and check whether there is any improvement or not.

Record keeping: Keeping accurate records of all patients who attended the checkup, including their examination results and treatment plans. This we will be doing diligently as Everyone’s health is at our top most priority.

Evaluation: Evaluate the success of the health checkup and make necessary adjustments for future checkups.
